Hi, newly registered but been following a long time (I have a Crane Coal Cooker) and learn so much here!
So I picked this up yesterday at the junk....errr.... antique shop because I remember a while back there was some discussion. I did have some reservations because of the factory fresh' look but convinced myself thinking 'Why would anyone make a repro of a piece with limited interest?' So I bought it.
Finish looks original, not powdercoat, no indication that a stovepipe was ever attached and the shaker stem doesn't bear a scratch!
Anyway, I pressure tested this morning and she's tight.
So what does everyone think....repro or an original, THANKS!

Welcome RB.

Looking at the grates I'd say it's an original that someone did a good job of cleaning up the outside.

Original bucket a day water heater.

If it passes water pressure test, keep it full of water. Build a fire in it.

Use coal or small pieces of wood. Might want a pressure relief vavle also, don't want it exploding while sitting beside it.

Thanks!, saw an old thread about them here.
Thinking of doing a closed loop glycol system in my small, cold garage shop. Gonna try nut coal cause that's what my Coal Cooker burns.
