I just requested a price on a truckload of bagged nut delivered to Farmington, CT.

I don't really need it but am pretty curious what the cost is.

I will post when I get a response.

Bagged Nut $330 per ton plus delivery.

That is $37 more per ton than 2 years ago.

I think inflation is more than that over 2 years.

With shipping that's $373/ton. Cheaper than I can pick it up for.

Has to be shipped to a business that has forklift and need to buy an entire truck.

I bought a truckload 2 years ago and don't know exactly what I have left but I have plenty. Probably more than half. So I won't be needing more for at least 2 years. I don't want to buy it now and store it.

Who knows if Trump gets back in and we start drilling again, maybe I will be firing up the oil boiler again. When oil was $1.32 per gallon, I had no desire to burn coal.

CH, how many miles from dealer are you? That pricing doesnt sound too bad. I'm 1000 miles from the mines and paid 460/ton picked up this spring for 2 tons of bagged Blaschak.

I don't really know. I think around 250 miles.

You see what I did. If you are interested, send them an email with a request for a quote.

It would be more involved for me as I dont have access to a forklift so would have to use a business. Im sure the trucking would be $3000. At some point I may do something like this. Its possible I could get a better price from my dealer on a load too. Time will tell. I noticed on facebook someone in Nebraska is selling it by the semi-load now, hauling it here. Where theres a will theres a way.

No problem here with unloading. I did ask them for a quote on bulk delivery. I emailed another local shipper for a comparison. Be interesting to see.
It would be nice if fuel came down. Costs more to fill the tractor than my car.

Well... I'll type best I can through fits of laughter. The local shipper responded already. He said if I could hold off for a year, and Trump becomes president, he believes the price will be significantly better. :D

I burn nut and in my opinion, the Penn Keystone is better. It has more consistent larger size pieces. Not nearly as much fines.
And $45 per ton cheaper.
Blashak told me they would not sell to end consumer. The only sell to dealers.

I know not where Rob lives or where Atlantic is but Rob posted this in the Coffee shop the other day. If I can purchase at $325 by the ton, I wouldn't purchase a truck load.
Maybe at some places, but I called Atlantic last week and their price on pea was the same as last fall, $325/ton.

Just got the email from Penn keystone. Bulk nut $265/ton and trucking here $38.25/ton. Loads avg 23-25 ton. So running max numbers, $7571.25 for a load. That's $303.25/ton delivered. Not bad at all.
