Why doesn't the governor go out and enforce her executive order ???

No one is going to do that.

Why ? Because guns work.

These other politicians need not have discussed any balancing issues (the EO will do nothing to deter violence). Even if it were to deter violence, its still violates our rights and this question and answer regarding if the EO would do what it was meant to do is irrelevant.

Our rights are not dependent on having good outcomes.

I cannot tell you how many pro-2nd groups I have advised to stop talking about how good or bad guns are -- its totally irrelevant to your rights. Some get the message and some still want to put up a front that we are "responsible gun owners". I tell people I am a totally irresponsible gun owner and it does not matter - its my right.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2023/0 ... 876418007/

Update ! NM Gov issues new EO after figuring out original is total garbage.

The new one is garbage too ! Recall, New Mexico is one messed up state...even when their constitution says that their general assembly must hold sessions in public, the courts said "ahhh, we don't care" .. case heading below. You can find the opinion on googel scholar https://scholar.google.com/

They gave way to much authority to their gov't officials. Like NY, when the gov of NM says this or that is an emergency then its an emergency even if its clear it is not. These gov will start declaring emergencies over everything that they want to issue EOs over. In other states an actual emergency must be shown to be present. But in several states this is not the case.

Can your gov declare "climate change" an emergency then outlaw use of coal stoves ? Do you know ? You should know the limits of your gov's authority.
