Yeah, they'll be out of business soon. If I wanted feds to see what's in my safe, I'd send them pics.

"Well, if you got nothing to hide..." FBI man to me

"Actually if I had nothing to hide my house walls would be made of glass..."

I think one of the bigger concerns is there is apparently a backdoor to the safe or they are storing customers codes. This isn't something they should be doing to begin with for any reason unless it was done upon request.

Just read an article that said they stated they were changing their policies. If you own one of these safes you can go to their website to fill out a form to purge their company passcode from their records.

That said the passcode would still work on the safe and digital records are not exactly easily purged because they may exist across multiple archived backups.

LOL why don't THEY send out notices telling customers that they will destroy such passcodes unless the customer fills out a form to have them do that. That's a scam policy. Customers won't know about it to start...

They need to go out of business.

Such a "feature" should only have been opt in and only activated on the safe by the customer.

That said they were getting in that safe whatever the case.

Ah, I see Rob is new to the gov't being at your door. Plenty of times for me (call up a judge at 2am to complain to him lol). Cops always say that they'll break down the door. I tell them if they legally can then do it. It would leave evidence of an unlawful entry. Nowadays, I have served all LEO dept with notices of trespass...they don't come to my door anymore lol.

Just saw a video with a better explanation. Firstly the lock is manufactured by another company. It has a managers passcode and user passcode. Presumably the user passcode can be reset by the user. The manager passcode would be if for example you were using it in a business. You could give the user passcode to an employee but without the managers passcode they would not be able to lock you out of the safe just by changing the user passcode. It would also allow you to reset the user passcode without knowing what it was.

This is actually a great feature, the issue is the implementation. The people purchasing these safes should of been made aware of it because it's actually beneficial if implemented by the end user.

If you own one of these safes demand the manager code from Liberty. Directions for changing it can be found on the lock manufacturers site.
