Putin = Stalin 2.0

Putin, just like the dictator Stalin, not only invades neighboring countries and is willing to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of soldiers to feed is ego, but he also kills off, or imprisons his political opposition, and now Russia's top military leaders and scientists.

History is repeating.

And that is why there is so much truth to the old saying, "Those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.".

However, there comes a point where some highly critical history is so well known that it can't be attributed to ignorance, and that repeating it must be intentional ? 👶

TBH I think people truly believe that "he's not really like that" or "he wouldn't do that". And then someone like Putin kills a couple people who dissent. Then everyone freaks out. There's no one that isn't power hungry (and crazy enough) that would be willing to overthrow the current administration and run a government run by the citizens.

Cant be more unfit than traitor Joe Biden. Taking millions in bribes from multiple foreign countries including Ukraine and China into the Biden crime family then washing it through 20 shell companies to distribute it to multiple family members over many years. I believe they call that Treason and people were hanged for it in the past.

Won't happen.

A. Ukraine now has the weapons to attack and destroy vast amounts of Russian troops and equipment. Putin now knows his illegal invasion is in a worse position than a month ago.

B. The EU is about to give Ukraine Russia's confiscated billions to continue to fight Russia with Russia's own money.

C. Putin has already made it very clear that he considers that Ukraine is part of Russia.

D. Putin has shown he can't be trusted to hold to any agreements, and he won't stop until he accomplishes line C.

E. Because of C. and D., the Ukrainians won't settle for anything less than all Russian troops leave all of the Ukrainian territory.

Funny how it's time to call it good enough when the country you invaded gets a huge resupply and governments around the world are finding a way to use your own $ to finance said country. Maybe everything is beginning to look a little overwhelming now that the big picture is becoming clearer.

With all the advances in missile tech, neither side has been able to gain air superiority in more than two years now. This has not really been much of an air war, so I don't see the F-16 doing much to change that.

This is first and foremost a ground war. What has and will continue to be the biggest impact on it are drones and artillery. The saying, "artillery is the king of the battlefield" still holds true. Russia didn't lose thousands of pieces of armor and hundreds of thousands of troop casualties to aircraft, they lost them to some antitank missiles, and lots of artillery and drones.

And Russia's much vaunted Black Sea fleet has lost at least 25% of it's ships and pushed back so far it has been made useless, all thanks to drones and not jet fighter aircraft.

Notice no country has given Ukraine ground attack aircraft like our A-10, designed to take out armor. And the Russians are not using attack helicopters much anymore. Find out why not and that will tell you a lot about how fighting a land war has changed quickly in just a couple of years and what equipment is going to be the priority.

The Russians have been able to use their jets in a stand off role firing into Ukraine from safe areas they control. The F-16 has a better radar and munitions than the old Russian tech Ukraine currently has. That is going to allow them to defend against these planes, the munitions they are using and even ground targets inside of Russian controlled space.

It's not going to win the war but it's significant upgrade over the air capabilities they have now.

They weren't facing the most maneuverable plane on the planet with modern radar either.

The A-10 has a very specific role when air superiority has been achieved.

Yet the Ukrainians have shot down a lot of Russian fighters/bombers, plus two AWAC planes even further away - all without expensive fighter jets. The Russians have been forced to use long range "stand-off" missile tactics with their jets because they could not gain air superiority even with their best. Ukrainian SAMs and Manpads have seen to that. Missile tech has advanced to where air superiority is very unlikely for both sides. And the best fighter jet isn't much good when there is no one coming in range to use it against.

The question then is how will a few F-16, that very likely will not have our latest tech, change that ? Jets can only carry a limited amount of ordinance, they are very expensive to own and maintain, even for us. Neither side will advance much by depending on the most maneuverable fighter in a war that is all about gaining and holding ground.

We can't equate this to previous wars. With modern high-tech antiair missiles, fighter jets suck at stopping artillery barrages and swarms of small drones.

The one thing that this war is proving, as in every war, is its boots on the ground that will decide who gets to own Ukraine. And while having top fighter jets sounds sexy, they won't do as much bang for the buck to get there. You just have to look at how much serious damage Ukraine has done to Russia's military and logistics by just using a lot of far less expensive equipment to see that.
