More than two years ago, Putin launched his unwarranted and unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine. Under the leadership of President Biden, the support of the United States and our allies has been critical as the Ukrainian people fight for their freedom and democracy.
Our generals and intelligence experts have warned that without continued U.S. support, Ukraine will be forced to retreat even further in the face of Putin’s onslaught. Earlier this week, I warned my colleagues on the House floor that if we deny the people of Ukraine in their time of need, history will never forget. You can view my full remarks below.
I am proud to report that we passed a comprehensive national security bill that provides support for the Ukrainian people to defend themselves against Putin’s aggression, provides security assistance for the people of Israel and Taiwan, and delivers much-needed humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
Congress sent a clear signal today to the world that the United States stands with its allies. We stand today, tomorrow, and always with the people of Ukraine and their fight for freedom.
