I'll read into this more before I comment on it. Its been mentioned on the news a little but not a lot.

OK, if it passes the state senate it makes the state use only carbon free energy sources (electric) by 2040 but theres a small amount of wiggle room if it makes it unreliable. The iron range is not being banned, thats iron ore, at least in my mind. They stopped a proposed mine near Boundary Waters for metals used for clean energy, and to be honest thats probably good. Boundary Waters is a state treasure more important than a mine. It would be like mining the Grand Canyon.

North Dakota may sue the state over it so all this stuff is a long ways from being a standing law. There has never been a coal mine in the state that Im aware of. Iowa did a little but has stopped. Our coal comes from Wyoming and North Dakota which includes electric that is made from coal and sent here near the ND border.
