Saw this online tonight. I had no idea this was already going on, but it is in Manitoba, CA. I wonder if the other provinces do it. Looks like you're exempt for one ton a year.

This was the Obummer suggested tax on coal if I recall.
Now being implemented in goofy CA .. soon to be suggested all over.

Interesting that they charge more per ton for the cleaner burning forms of coal. But then, it's California.

Would it be because of using the less taxed in larger quantities like electric plant. Vs higher tax on home heating.

NYS does not charge tax on heating fuels, although some counties like Freetown Fred's do.
