Somewhere in the central nj mountains....loaded mark 3 at 7pm last night, got up later than I like this morning(rush out the door),which meant I didn't load this morning as I usually do...got home at 6 tonight and first thing I did was go to stove to see how it was doing, half expecting to have little fire left...did my shake down and probably had enough of a bed to burn another 8hrs...this is with draft knob open 1 full turn...added half a 5 gallon bucket, let it burn off,see if we can get another 23hrs? And we still haven't used oil heat...baseboards are cold and house is at a constant 70...

I heated my house(~3000sf) from the basement 2 seasons with the MK3. Its a great stove and will easily get 24hrs depending on coal and draft.

I ran the oil furnace until oct 19th this year, Wanted to make sure the furnace still worked and the oil in the lines didn't go solid. I don't think we used the oil at all since lighting the efm 350 around jan 2021. When we had the Reading Allegheny running we needed the oil assistance when the outside temps got below 25 degrees. Last time the tank was filled was feb 2018 and it's about 3/8 full yet.

So you're only burning 20ish pounds a day?

25 lbs per day works out to about 10,000 btu's per hr of heat output. I am not sure how large your home is, but that is an impressively low heat load.

Our farmhouse with addition is about 2500 square ft...and that's being generous...the 100 yr old part is brick and poorly insulated, and the addition was poorly insulated to begin with...I've been adding insulation with every project/room we take on...roxul rockwool...we didn't have the mark 2 Last year in the old part of house and it was miserable...cold and very uncomfortable...oil boiler can't keep up,too small for Sq footage of house...

Way2many?....I would say 15-20 lbs a day...I can get 23hrs of burn out of the mark 3,and 12-18 hrs on the mark 2 with those #'s
