We bought an older used Harman fireplace insert this summer and it did not have any plates on it to determine the model number. Can anyone identify what it is so we can find out what the best type of coal is to burn in it.

It measures 24Hx28W

Mr Davis
Welcome to the forum. At the top right of page is a 'search' block.....type Harman insert......lot's of info in those threads. I have a Harman Mark II, stand-a-lone that burns anthracite 'nut' & 'stove' size real well.
Cheers

3 grates. So equal to mark III in capacity. Same grates as our Mark 2's, just an extra. Ours are recommended to used pea, nut or stove. Should throw some massive heat.

Is the picture of where it is now? Or where it came from?

These are the pics of the grates when we bought it. We removed them to move the stove. It was one heavy bugger!

Thank you for the info on what type of coal to use.

No problem. There's lots of info here, just use the search. Any questions, just ask away.
