Anyone else store there coal bags outside? I cover mine with a large tarp but when it comes time to use I pull about 10 bags at a time and they are all frozen rock solid and have to transfer into a tote in the house to thaw before moving into the stove?

Thinking about building a coal bin for outside to shovel into a bucket and transfer in but I’m worried it will all be frozen as well?

Back in the day I used to store my nut coal outside and it never froze. I put a tarp over it and the delivery water would evaporate or drain away. Your bags must be containing the water.

I have had the same problem. Rice holds more moisture than larger sizes like nut. If you can store the pallet under cover with the outer stretch wrap removed, that helps a lot.
