Today the Vascular surgeon took 1/2 of one of my left foot toes off All in all--considering-- the feet look pretty good--one concern is the left foot big toe--between the Vascular surgeon & my LPN live in--they are both determined to save it!! this woman is a TROOPER!!
She basically did--no anesthesia--luckily I've had peripheral neuropathy for yrs--silver lining huh??? She used a laser thinggy to quarterize the vessels--pretty interesting I thought once ya got past the smell!!! LOL
I do have a source of ballet dancing shoes that can be fitted around partial feet. Of course you have diabetic neuropathies. You have been eating that sugary chit Freddy serves up for breakfast every weekend. There is no substitute for clean living.
You better hope they save it, you can't run without a big toe so no more chasing nurses. The other issue is having your *censored* kicker card revoked.
I worked with a young man that lost some whole & partial fingers in a industrial accident. They took some of his toes to replace missing fingers, one big toe replaced a thumb & smaller toes other partial parts, never asked if he could run but he was a good worker & used the repaired hand well. We nicked named him toehand, one day after some guys asking for new gloves the boss brought them out & handed him one glove & a sock, he cracked up & never caused any trouble for the boss. Bottom line was if you didn't know you never would have guessed by the way he used it to work with. Keep on keeping on, spring is coming.

Big toe is required to run, without it you have nothing to push off on. When I was about 19 I had one of my big toes crushed in construction accident. It was just the one bone close to the foot but it was crushed. I took my boot off and it was the size of a dime in that area before quickly swelling. While we were in the emergency room my Mother who is a nurse says they will just tape it, Doc comes in says it will need to be operated on. Good guess there Ma!... The one thing he mentioned was I would not be able to run if it didn't heal properly. It doesn't bend in the middle but I never had any problem running.
