I live in Lancaster County and I am looking for quality beef to buy in bulk. I usually buy a 1/4 when I do it. Anyone have any suggestions?

yep, except for the fact PA reduced number of Doe licenses and with the crazy point restrictions it gets harder and harder to get a deer...UNLESS of course you pay a huge lease price, which I believe this is what PA wants, to emulate MD with their leasing and small game lands...it is all about money now, not sport or food. It is truly sad as I had to explain this to my daughter when we were hunting and she saw deer that she couldnt shoot. My gut tells me this will eventually reduce the number hunters in PA because lack of success will drive young hunters away.

Man the processing is part of the fun of getting a deer. Having some beers with your buddies and frying some fresh venison to go along with more BEER  . I just don't get these people just shooting them just for the rack or parts of the deer :mad2: .

Hunting the elusive cow is a dangerous endeavor mate.

Proceed with caution.

Highest concentration of these large dalmatian variety are in Wisconsin.

back to the orignial subject,Toby Hill sells and will process your own beef. They are located in the western part of Chester County close to Lancaster. They done a great job on processing our steers and have a store to sell beef to the public.

You can try Kolb Brothers meat store, 431 Stony Run Road, Spring City, PA 610-948-3370

They sell 1/4, 1/2 , and full beef.

I was just in there to get some slab bacon. sort of reminds you of the old time butcher shop.....which is what they are.

I would have thought with all the Amish, beef would be easy to find there

This may anger some, but I find many of the Amish to be shady! They want top dollar for their beef and it is tough, stringy, or both. It is almost as if they are using an old milkin cow as beef....last time I used Amish I paid $450 for maybe 80Lbs of meat and it was awful!!!

Yeah I probably am..oh well. I don't mind people making a profit, but when you look to out-price the grocery store that is crazy...
