Place: Knoebel's - Elysburg, PA - Pavilion D by the Giant Ferris Wheel
Date: Saturday Sept. 19
Time: 12 noon until 8

Knoebel's if you are unfamiliar with the park it is considered one of the best family amusement parks in the country. Parking is free, admission is free and the pavilion is free. This is not like those mega parks, it's not going to cost you a fortune to just be there.

http://www.knoebels.com/

You can bring your own cooler and food or buy it there, the park food is relatively cheap and very good. I'll be bringing a grill for anybody that needs it, you can bring your own if you want. They also have power outlets and a coin operated gas stove if you need it. The park itself has plenty of rides including some of the best wooden roller coasters in the world if that is your thing. Flying Turns to the best of my knowledge is the only one in the world.

To ride you need tickets, kiddie rides start at $1 up to the coasters which are $3. I can get a 20% discount with $500 purchase so if you know you are going let me know how many you want and as long as there is enough I'll get them. FYI the tickets never expire.

If you want to stay the night they have overnight campground, cottages and a B&B in or near the park. Click the link "stay" for more information. There is also nearby lodging, not familiar with the area so I'll let someone else make some suggestions for that.

If you are coming or need tickets I need to know how many by the last day in August especially for the tickets.

Ok, I need to say this, I just can not get to PA for a meet/greet. Are there people who would do a meet/greet for ,... say a NH/VT/Me meet greet, NH being centrally located, ... Some where , that would allow some running flame stove fire ups. Plenty of water around for safety. , re : bucket brigade. Just putting it out there, I would show up, say if it were at my place,....?

I know some people have done it before, you're more than welcome to start a topic to gauge interest.

Someone asked about alcohol, it's not allowed in the park. Park closes at 8 so I'm thinking about doing an after hours type thing.

Nope, they have it listed for 12 to 8, I'd imagine it must be slow around then.

Campsites at canobles sell out every year during the summer season. Patrons pay in advance! If you go the same week each year, you will often see the same families year after year. But I'm guessing after labor day the sites will open back up with good availability.

It's a fun place with lots to do. It's s good ole country amusement park! I visit in June every year.

Listen to this, this coming summer has one less summer week. There is a list of families not able to obtain their spots. This will happen the first week after Memorial day. Quite a dilemma!

I would guess that would be the case. They don't even rent the pavilions into October and the one we have is as close as you can get.
