A Hearty Good Morning All You "Yukon Cornelius's"
Yep,We All figured We'd experience atleast one more solid Winter in Our Lifetimes, and this sure looks like this one is it..!! Perhaps it was easy in da' past to be running around in short pants, but not this one..!! We're rumored to go above 32* next Friday, but I'm not holding my breath..
On da' heels of that thought,Our snow pack's been growing steadily here in "The Snowbelt". We've been getting steady applications of "Ohio White" courtesy of a wide open,Yet steadily cooling Lake Erie. It's supposedly cooled down to 36* with ice growing from the Western Shallow Basin and Islands working Eastward.. I Believe Ice Fishing equipment's getting dusted off in preparation..!!
Nothing sets a day up in the cold finer than copius amounts of that "Freetown Fred Woolrich Blend" and Freddy's Own Snausage Gravy And Biscuits"..!! Of course, for You "Non-Believers",Our "Triaxle Of Bacon" is here, coupled up to "Spudfest 2025",Pancakes,Waffles,Toast and Our typical Homage paid to the "Egglet"..!!
Warm up Your Truck and Your Keyster by getting both in here and reconnect..!!
Of course,I'd be totally remiss if I ignored the fact that We've experienced a few horrible events in this first month of 2025.. As a Retired Fire Captain/Medic of twenty years, the L.A. County Fire Nightmare has been hard to watch. There will be time going forward to tear this glaring mess apart.. All the way down to it's roots..
At this time though,I'd ask You All to reflect the Principles that Our Founder,Freddy, has taught Us here:
"Don't Forget To Hug Your Loved Ones,And Forward We Go..!!" A Total Tip Of The Hat To Every Nomex/PBI Wearing Poor Bastard That Tried To Make A Stand And Lost During This.. This Also Includes Those "Knockout Droppers" Making Air Strikes Once The Santa Anna's Dropped Enough To Let Them Get Airborne To Hammer This Thing....

Oops Big D..!! I was typin' on the back porch over a hot cup and a "refreshing adult tobacco product" while You punched in a Fine Opening..!! Thanx for making the hinges swing open on Our doorstep this brisk morning..!!
Perhaps one of "Our Fine Mods" could take my "Tardy Opening" and merge it under Our Main Man D-Frost's Thoughtful Opening Blaster..!!

Morning All!

That was a heck of an opening blast there Bob! Not much go'in on here today. Got a couple inches of snow overnight. Today we have mostly indoor activities planned so no worries.

Have a good weekend everyone!

I cannot believe what people pay for coffee these days. So many people go to a Coffee place, wait in line, order their drink, wait for it, pay like $5 or more and tip at the take out counter. Nothing like home brew!

A tag team effort! Early bird gets the worm... or in this case bacon! Yep, those fires, I cant even imagine seeing it, living it, much less fighting it.

Just a dusting of snow here and thats even too much. Had a great week, signed up for Social Security. In my case waiting 1 or 2 years made no sense with the amount more it would have paid and Im not waiting 3. So F it, Im on the payroll.... Im not retiring by the way, just cutting back some. No plans of fully retiring until I have too.

In honor of being old I'll have an extra pound of bacon today to nibble on during football watching. A raw spud with a salt shaker will round out the meal and clean off my teeth. Have a good one!

A little snow and a lot of wind so far this January. Saw gusts over 60 mph and with temps staying lower now the squirrels have decided to break out the fur hats.

Any bacon left? Hopefully the coffee is still on, I got shorted on my coffee allowance yesterday. A nice calm leisurely Sat turned into a hurry up and go morning. It wasn't supposed to snow, and then it did overnight. My sister was coming out for a belated holiday visit late in the day, and then it got pushed up to before noon. The coal run I was going on had a couple stops added to it. I should have been listening to Run, Run, Rudolph. Anywho, after a hectic morning we had a good visit for the rest of the afternoon. After some of Ffreds finest I have to unload that half ton. That's about it for an agenda today. Stay warm fellas.

Day late too, good morning guys works been busy here plow, salt, repeat. Gotta keep them roads clean people refuse to slow down or stay home. Normal chores then I suppose I’ll make sure nobody steals my recliner today. Keep us posted on the freeze of the lake HB, it’s been a pretty steady stream of Da Ohio White express around here. Coating to an inch every time one passes by. Stay warm friends!

Sunday turned out to be a pleasant calm morning and some what balmy in the upper 20s. Big change from the past week. Who turned off the wind? When it gets too quiet like this in the winter around here that can mean Mother Nature is brewing a new pot of stew for later.
