my system is a little unique i have the two boilers in different buildings one is downhill, the coal boiler and the propane boiler is in the basement of the home. there are connected with a 1.5 inch per underground piping .the coal boiler is fed by a gravity coal bin and is in the lower floor of my work shop which is downhill . Most folks won't be able to have that arrangement for space.
the propane boiler feds into the system using primary secondly loop piping arrangment

Im keeping my woodstove as im convinced that all form of mass widely used heating fuels will be expensive and in short supply down the road possibly even wood.

I also like the idea of heating sources that do not require electricity. That would be Wood stove, Some hand fired coal stoves that work from gravity or hot air coal stoves, also some older gas boilers that use a pilot light.
