I gotta say, I was skeptical of the quality reports from Sherman. I've been burning Blashack coal for years, which I found to be better than other sources I'd found (not sure of some of the sources, though one was Lehigh).
Some background: due to the price of coal up here, I've been using oil to heat this year. I received my coal delivery from Aaron about a month ago (for next winter). And, naturally, found out two days later that I'd be moving. So, I fired up the OWB and started burning the coal. Now, note that I said OWB... so my burning experience is a lot different than you guys with your stoker stoves and whatnot.
But, I gotta say, this Sherman coal is awesome! It really does burn down to a fine ash, with notably fewer clinker issues than I am used to (again, it's an OWB, so I don't think it's possible for me to not have clinkers). What I am seeing is fewer clinkers, of smaller size, and often more susceptible to breaking apart. I haven't had my shaker grates get locked up even once yet.
I do notice the seemingly extra amount of fines that everyone mentions, and I also note that the nut coal has a lot more variance in size than normal - a lot of larger pieces that I might even qualify as "stove" size - but neither of these are issues for my use, it all feeds the OWB the same.

Yes, Thank you, Your brother delivered to me Saturday. 5 tons of Sherman coal in the bin, I should be good until spring. we had to wait about 15 minutes for my son to get to my house and he was patient. I messed up my back a few weeks ago when mom passed out in my arms. aggravated it friday taking my mom to her class reunion. I was unable to help with the coal delivery. This worries me as I age will I be able to load the coal bin?

Space on the left is a secondary bin area where I unload coal that I hauled from my pickup truck. next to that is my canned goods shelves. bin is like 6x13, Wish i could have it in the other corner and auger right from the bin, but the well pump and sump pump and water softener and all the plumbing in the other corner.

Oh. No it's rice. I did burn some superior buck winter of 2022/2023, had 2500 pounds of it that I hauled with my sons truck. Superior did not have any rice that morning.
Used to burn buck at the old shop in the efm af150 and alaska stoker and my buddy Skip was taking quite a bit of it for his hand fed stove. I switched to rice lol.

all good for me also, Aaron delivered 10 tons last month, I was a bit worried buying that much
without knowing first hand how it would burn, Turns out it is doing a great job
excellent delivery also,
