He is clearly showing his age. Based on the full context it appears he was talking about the recession and mistakenly said pandemic, this can happen to anyone however there is far too many of these occurrences for someone that is seeking to be President for the next 4 years.

Apparently it's actually mobile and deployed occasionally for training exercises with issues in the past, this is basically another training exercise. I'm also reading in this article it's old and not well maintained equipment.

During a major military exercise in Australia last year, US soldiers had to wait for a “narrow window” of opportunity to deploy the pier because of heavy seas. They had similar problems during a training exercise off the coast of Virginia in 2016.

It’s also been more than a decade since the military last used this kind of floating pier, known as a Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore, or JLOTS, in a real operation, when it delivered humanitarian aid to Haiti after the devastating 2010 earthquake.

“This is something that we haven’t done in a really long time,” a defense official told CNN

He does have a point, the politicians in Cali champion the criminals, so Trump's got to be their pick. Who knew it would become a red state?

It has to be hard being a conservative in that state. They have elected what they call Republicans but they are not real ones. I'll eat my shoes if Trump wins California. I will say he does have a small chance in my state, only because of the huge amount of dem bills that passed here the last 2 years with no insight from repubs. Still doubtful but a chance. Nixon was the last Repub to win my state.
