Anyone currently running one of these? Good, bad? Pros or cons. Have several on marketplace close by going cheap enough that I could buy 2 to have spare parts. I've never run a stoker, but I like the idea of filling the hopper occasionally and walking away. Empty ash pan every couple days vs once or twice a day.

I have at my old house. Good stove. Keep the motors oiled. Still have it. But it sits in the garage on a pallet. Too big physically for my house now. I'll probably sell it. Depending on where you have it in your home, the noise might bother you. I'll be switching to wood/coal due to the price of coal. Found compressed wood blocks for half the price of coal too.

How loud? Have you used the compressed sawdust bricks before? Are they better than wood?kodadog wrote: ↑Wed. May. 15, 2024 6:36 pm I have at my old house. Good stove. Keep the motors oiled. The convection fan is the loud fan. The combustion fan has a low humm usually. The feed motor is periodic but noticeable.
A friend of mine used compressed sawdust bricks and loved the simplicity and cleanliness. Storage takes up way less space. Wood has a better smell than the bricks if that matters.

also some fan motors are just quieter for some reason. It's just luck of one being quiet. My LL convection fan sounds like a jet engine starting when it gets going no matter how I've tried to muffle it. Even took it apart and lubed it. The K90 was way quieter.

I intend to run it in the basement, so it doesn't seem like it would be too loud.

If you would like to duct it upstairs they made the duct top model as well if you see that for sale. I have that but didn't duct it. I used the duct ring on top to hold a pot of water

Yes! That is part of the reason I was looking at this stove.

I would think with it in a basement a stoker would be nice. The noise, its hard to tell as everyone's hearing is different. Theres a post somewhere on this forum about quiet fans, aftermarket ones. Or maybe the post turned into that type of discussion.
