I was very happy to hear Yuengling brought back their Bock Beer again. They made it for a few years some time ago and then it disappeared. I'm hoping it tastes the same as before. I'll find out soon.

I'll see if they have it... I really like Bock beer...

Isn't this an unusual time to release this ?...

I usually see Bock around Thanksgiving...

I had it on draft yesterday in Pottsville and I still have half a case at home.

Troegs makes Troegenator all year. That is a double bock so drink responsibility.

Good question, they made it for a few years in a row some time ago and then they quit. I haven't heard if this is a one time thing or if it will be seasonal. If I get a chance I'll have to ask up by the brewery at their new store. Maybe someone knows.

I like Yuengling and drink it regularly, however one of the best non-craft beer bocks that I've had is Genesee Bock. Cool looking can too.

Back when I still drank, I had the Yuengling Bock. It was decent. At one time most brewers had a Bock. It was once literally the dregs from a Springtime clean out of the vats. For as crappy a brand it was, the most common beer in my area more than 40 years ago, was Schmidts of Phila. Anyhow, they had a Bottled Bock every Spring and it was some seriously good swill.

The best specialty brew I've had from Yuengling was their Octoberfest, but only some years. In a good year, it tasted like the contract Festival amber that they used to make for beer festivals before they got so big. They also had a Hefeweizen (summer wheat beer) that was very good. I only saw that one year, but maybe they still do a batch now and then. The wildest contract brew Yuengling did long ago was for one bar only in Reading. It was nicknamed "Molesterfield". It was a kegged mix of their Lord Chesterfield ale and their dark Porter. Sort of a wilder version of the old half and half draft beer mix. Back in the day, that was half Reading Premium and half Yuengling Porter.

Do you guys drink much Straub out that way? I used to get to St. Marys, PA on business and would stop by their brewery to drink from the "eternal tap" as soon as I got there.
