You've been predicting the economy is tanking/already tanked for a long time now. When is this going to happen?

Im not predicting anything , just watching it happen and commenting. If you have better news please share it.

Its happening right now if your watching. Every economic indicator in the red zone . The last and greatest will be a market crash. which is showing signs right now. Nvidia the star of the market bubble run up just lost $200 a share or about 20% of its value of almost 2T or $400 billion in just 5 days .Car repossessions up. Bankruptcies up. Home sale frozen. Layoffs accelerating. Commercial real estate is in shambles. Debt at every level spiraling out of control. Im watching all this very closely as i was heavily invested in the market recently.

Was? Are you out now? My Roth IRA is in the Vanguard S&P 500 and it just hit a record high a couple weeks ago. Down a little now. I'm not ditching it because it's not money I need for a while.

Depends. Look at the last big market crash to see whats may be ahead for your particular fund. The market is always the highest just before a crash. I was in energy and utilities, something we cant live without. But some of those went down 80% in the last crash and some only 20 to 30%. Although they have recover since. The Russel 2000 is a broader indicator is down 10% from 3 yrs ago. Not only 3 yrs with no profit outside dividends but an overall loss of 10% over that time frame. when the market tanks The govt will come rushing in printing trillions again and may or may not push the day of reckoning further ahead. So no one can predict exactly when it all falls apart and how bad. I took profit and retreated to the sidelines at least until the whole iran -israel thing plays out. I use Vanguard, Schwab and Fidelity.

Sounds about right. Where can you put your money besides the stock market and still make any gains though? And trying to time the market has been proven to be worse than set it and forget it. Unless you need the money right away.

Iv only been invested for 3yrs. At 67 i dont have the luxury of decades of growth to look forward to. After a few hundred trades large and small ,this is my result. 2022 , i did 20% profit in less than 2 months time. 2023 was rough but still managed to eke out 15% profit for the year learning as i go. This year is hard to say but its been steady small victories in equities. Depending on how it plays out i may have to settle for the 5% treasuries and MM funds. I figure thats not a bad record so far for a crap market and all this being new to me. I figure im either going to be good at it or im not. Im super cautious but the gains suffer because of that. Right now im only 5% in stocks and the rest either treasuries or MM at 5% Interest.

Lots of mistakes along the way i hope not to repeat but its definitely a learning process and you can time the market in the short term although theres a lot more than timing that goes into a trading strategy. I havnt been in it long enough to call it long term.

Buy some of these ... $100,000,000,000 notes...

Only need one... Worth 40 cents each to collectors...

With the US debt out of control maybe the $ will be next...

Buy a small insurance policy of some type of hard assets...

~10% of your account or so... To tide you over when the

collapse comes...As it surely will...

Tesla stock is really tanking. I wouldnt want to be the one buying in at $260 a share 6 months ago only to see it plunge to $140 today. They say as a car company its only worth $30 a share or less. .As a pie in the sky fairy dust company its worth whatever someone thinks they can profit from like Butt-coin and Nvidia which has also tanking.I was tempted to buy some when it dipped to just over $100 but thought it was still overpriced at that point.

Yes imagine the loss of R&D and mfg capacity into lithium when a new better battery tech hits the market. The whole world wide lithium movement will become the beta-max and Kodak of history. EVS with Lithium will get an instant price reduction.
