Nope - been there since we got it in '03. Same one I've always seen on the Grand Marquis since '83.

Seems there is new issue emerging with the charging stations, copper theft.

I love it when thieves clip live wires. Especially high voltage ones. Instant justice! 👏

Faster than cutting out catalytic converters, plus you don't get your cool rapper-wannabe duds dirty crawling under cars.

So what, you're going to be at the charging station for a while so carry along some Scotch-Brite pads and touch it up while you're waiting for your next hundred miles worth of electrons. To a Tesla fan boy it would be like giving their significant other a back rub.

Stainless steel is not created equally. Some alloys are prone to light rust and I guess that's what Tesla decided to go with. Could be a cost factor or maybe a higher chromium stainless would be too weak or some other issue that won't ever be my problem.

I think the pipe on my Ram & on one of our Volvos is made of some 400-series stainless. A magnet will stick to it, and it will develop surface rust.

Buyer remorse from Hertz? I saw a bunch of Teslas getting unloaded yesterday at the auto auction in Manville, NJ. I wonder if they came from Hertz. 🤔

But they don't tell you about the 60% of the Teslas they are keeping...

Most have high mileage so they dispose of them...

What you're not telling is several reports say the same thing - Hertz said those Teslas are being auctioned off because of a number of reasons - not enough people want to rent one, they are having more accidents, too expensive to repair and insure. They are losing money having Teslas that they could be making if those were ICE cars. I had posted a link to one of the reports a while ago. Here's more.

Maybe the customers need education on the operation of EV's ...

Kinda like I wouldn't rent a 787 to someone with only Piper Cub experience...

Or a speed boat to someone with only Kayak skills...

"Many of the reasons actually stem from the unfamiliarity many customers had with EVs, especially Teslas, when having their first experience with one. But are they actually a great rental car?"

So you land in Las Vegas and are expected to take class on how to operate the car?

Let's be real here, if you can't figure out the car has a lot of acceleration after the first push of the pedal you shouldn't be driving the car. I know you can rent sports cars but that is not the norm and the Tesla vehicles are the equivalent of giving a sports car to a lot of everyday drivers.
