Coal trol help

Guys, I got so frustrated with my Channing 111. I just said F it and bought a leisure line brand new with a coal trol. I LITERALLY HATE IT! It got installed Friday, I have not had 1-2 inches of ash at all. It's just pushing unburned coal and really
hot burned coal off. The bed is crazy thick. Set at min 8 , max 26. Tried to get to 72 degrees from friday-sunday would only go up to 69 degrees and thats it. So then I figured i'll set it to 69. That was Sunday night. The temp reading on the coal trol is at 71 and the thing isnt slowing down, it's just been running non stop. Last night I did hear it slow down once but not for long. I'm burning so much coal and it's not even comfortable everywhere in my house. Only the room it's in and above it. I'm now feeling depressed that I bought it. The dealer came out yesterday and said it would take time for it to settle down but it's been 5 days already. How can I get it right? I don't know why coal bed is so deep and thick. Can anyone give me simple instructions to troubleshoot it? The installer set it up. I didn't want daytime and nighttime temps different so he set them the same. Also what does O mean displayed on the coal trol. I noticed that it says that. Also, I was looking through the manual and I believe the status light is supposed to blink? Mine doesn't blink at all.

Since you already had your dealer out to look at it I suggest calling Leisure Line directly and discussing your issue with them.

Why don't you turn the max feed rate down?

Coal takes a while to catch up and slow down. At least an hour or more after making changes. only change a couple of points and let it settle out for a while if changing min/max points. I've had coaltrol on my leisure line for many years (I use 8min/45 max). it maintains good, as long as your not changing setpoints much. especially more than a degree or two at a time. it may overshoot at times if more than a couple degree change and has to catch up.

Def. Contact CoalTrol or your dealer if you still have issues.

I would start with a RESET. Make sure the plugs are in the correct.
On my pocono I can touch the feeder shaft.
If the feed rate is at 9 according to the thermostat, it should spin 9 seconds every 100 seconds.

As to the depth of coal, make sure there is nothing not smooth on the grate. The coal should be no higher than the opening between the hopper and grate.

It really is way down compared to what the recommendation is per the manual. They said max 40 and min 6. At first they had set mine to 35 and it was too fast. We went down to 27 and it seemed a bit better. It's still running hot and I have so much wasted coal in the ash pan.

I'd keep turning it down until you have ~1.5" of ash at the end of the grate. You shouldn't see any unburnt coal.
Your combustion air is good, correct?

that looks good for a max burn. if its constantly calling for heat, it will burn like that, as long you are no pushing hot coals off the end, it should be dialed in pretty good. about 1" of ash is good at max feed/burn.

is the thermostat getting satisfied on the setting. if you set it to 70 is it reaching 70? etc...if its constantly trying to keep up, it will continuously feed and burn.

whats the FR (Feed rate) when its calling for heat or running constantly, that will vary depending on your thermostat setting
