A quick question for those who've fabricated their own hot air jackets or those who are familiar with working sheet metal.

Would 22 ga. galvanized sheet metal be a good choice for workability and strength? I will be doing the work myself. I have fabricated many things from sheet metal but never sure of the gauge. I'm afraid it may be a little too thick - compared to regular duct work fittings which are usually 26 - 30 ga.
