That is strange. I wonder what the cut off point is?

It makes sense to me. They are catering to the end user with lower prices and anyone showing up with a semi, theres a good chance they are reselling it so Sherman is charging them more. That in turn keeps the prices lower on the little guy. Once in a while someone falls thru the cracks but overall it makes sense. Even 250 is cheap.

Of course I could be wrong but I think thats why.

The guy that buys in bulk is going to have to sell to the end user at a higher price. How does that help the little guy?

I sure as he$$ will never send a triaxle in there again ~ 3 of us split a load of coal. We'll get a trailer and make 3 trips. Makes no sense at all, but I feel like we took a screwing. Actually called 2 days earlier and was quoted 200, no matter we ended up paying $1150 more for 23 tons buying in bulk. We do not resell

So they charged you $250 a ton on the day you got it ? Sounds like a price increase occurred. Or an error. Do you know which ?

Guess I ruffled everyones feathers, sorry. But if he charged little guys more than the big guys that isnt helping anyone either. The big guy is probably gonna charge the same amount whether they got it free or 400/ton, what the market will take. That seems to be how greed is working right now. I got my coal for 465/ton bagged 1000 miles from the mine and some here 200 miles away payed more. Tell me there isnt some serious up-charging going on by some.

Id be upset too Leward as they told you 200. that part was wrong. Hopefully this whole mess straightens out soon.

Not ruffled W. This isn't a case of charging the little guy more , just the opposite. I'd say they should be charged the same at least. It's good to know they are still $200 though. I'm curious how it's going to burn. Mine looks real good. Getting conflicting reports on el nino winter predictions.

Well, at least the nice thing about anthracite if you don't use it for awhile, it doesn't have a use by date, doesn't rot or get mushy nor does it get moldy.

This reminds me of my phone call last year to Blaschak asking for a price on 20 tons. I was told they weren't selling in those quantities. Seems the mines are discouraging large sales.

I heard they were limiting sales to new customers and prioritizing existing accounts.

Sounds like a balancing act between supplying the high priced exports market and still keeping the local sales going.

When I called them in Spring of 22 they told me that I had to go thru their retailer. So I purchased elsewhere.

That has always been the case with Blaschak and several other coal companies.
