You can only buy a license for use.

Hydrogen on earth is plentiful ,but only in water bonded with oxygen

in one of the strongest bonds and is not easily separated but by using

large amounts of energy.Using "free" energy from the sun is one way to

do it,but why not use the energy directly and avoid the energy loss in the

transition?

The hydrogen pert is true in that you have to look at it more like energy storage than as a source but Microsoft has never bricked my computer and all my computers came with a hard copy of windows. Tesla can brick there cars if they want to. So far all I have heard of is making Tesla chargers unusable, about the same as Toyota locking my gas cap unless I'm in my driveway.

For that much money it should at least come with a library card to help while waiting for it to recharge.

And I heard that because of the battery the EV Hummer is over 9000 lbs. :o

Rubber band is only storing energy not producing it so it is no more useful than a battery.
