The US stock markets valuation should double about every 9 years if we continue upon this trajectory.
1.08^9 = 1.999
But a raise of 2% every year will double your income roughly every 36 years.
1.02^36 = 2.04
And a raise of 3.5% every year will double your salary about every 20-1/4 years.
1.035^20.25 = 2.007

Check out the prices of new vehicles, better yet check out used truck prices. They are crazy for even older vehicles. Electric bill going up, cable bill sucks for all the more there is to watch, the only good of it is the internet service and they know it! Everytime i go into wally-world i see prices higher than the week before.

Larry I can certainly tell you many things at the hardware store have had a significant price increase. There isn't a flat markup because we try and mark stuff so it sells. Garden hoses for example do not have large markup, the new wholesale cost was just as much as what he had for previous retail price. That was probably one of the most dramatic increases I saw but everything has gone up some. The bikes have gone up about 10 to 15 percent.

I've got a few projects in mind and might have to take out a loan just to buy the materials to enlarge my coal bin!

And my tax valuation went up 30%. In 3 years from $176,100 to $221,000. Without counting the improvements I have made.
Time for a wage increase I guess.....

Yes, I agree, but they are not "official". AFAICT, under 2% inflation is still the "official" word, and 2% inflation is still the "official" target. And it will quite likely take yet more stimulus whereby to achieve the "official" 2%.
