You wouldn't believe what will fit into a Hitzer 82FA.

What I have learnt from burning cloths. Yup, it burns fine. If the item has metal buttons/zipper.... I set them aside for the colder days when I'm burning hotter. So far, can never see any metal pieces.

And yes, I do dump ashes on driveway (gravel).

Do you throw them on the coal bed? Seems like it would slow down air passing through the coal.
