Contrary to popular wisdom, this winter I have stuck all kinds of crap into the furnace to burn. Ain't been to watch full either, from magizines, boxes, old clothing, tupperware packing peanuts, staples and all.

It all comes out looking like ash.

I say phowey to all the nasayers!

If it fits, it gets burned!

Ive always wanted to fill my stove by throwing the whole 40 pound bag in but it wont fit thru the door. A tire wont fit either, lol

I suppose if we had tire burning stoves we'd argue about which one burned the hottest or longest, if a baro was needed, overfire air needed, how to keep the glass clean, radial or stud, and if a Firestone was better than a Goodyear tire, lol No arguments here on your success! Burn'em if you have them!

This model? 5 years. This unit, 2.

First one was ran too many times up at 10 bags a day and warped the insides just a bit. Could still use it, but needed new guts. It was close to the same cost to just replace (when you add in the few hours of my time).

I don't plan on going more than 6 bags a day with this unit. Right at were the bricks start breaking. 2 are broke now. At ten bags a day, every brick was broken.

Also: at 10 bags a day, I'd get basketball sized clinkers.

I burn 7.5-10 ton a winter.

Why did you stay with that model? I keep looking at it because of price point but wonder if it would hold up more than 10 years. I wonder if I should bite the bullet and spend 2 G more to buy something that looks more heavy duty. Dunno.

Wow, 10 bags a day. That is putting out some serious heat! Whats the stoves temp on the side to burn that much? I was using 70-80 pounds running at 450 all day in my similar style (no cabinet, firebrick shorter) stove... but you have the blower model so that may not be comparable.

I'll watch the video tomorrow fig.

Fig I just have to ask. After reading your list under your name, is your house walls built entirely out of chimneys?

Lol. A brick chimney, a class A chimney and two pellet chimney’s. So no, but my floor is about to cave in.

I finally moved about half of them to a shed and a few to the basement. I was getting worried about the sag in the floors there for a while.

That is really cool! They came very close to building a tire burning electric plant in my county once until it became known that the state rep pushing the idea was involved with it himself. The amount of heat in a tire is amazing.

Tires and plastic trash have extremely high btu's.
The bags that are coal comes in make a heck of a hot fire,
for me thats outside and melting snow.
But it would be tempting at times instead of wasting all those btus.
