ordering parts....is it a good idea to have one of these brass baseboard tees for each row of baseboard?

If you have purge valves on every zone they are not needed...but won't hurt.

taking a break, letting the dust settle...i'm positive there was asbestos furnace cement under the the newer stuff because my dad had a bag of it i threw out 3 yrs ago.

I do have a 8" opening!
look at all the chunks that came out of the bottom of the chimney! i filled the shop vac with pine needles and feathers. don't think that it was cleaned in decades!

the oil furnace is shot. found some holes in the exhaust outlet, put some furnace cement over them.

Cool. will pick up a sheet next time i go to to lowes or home depot.

probably going to rip the furnace out next year since i found the rust holes, the heat exchanger tubes are clogged solid too.
Hoping i can use the oil gun on the efm 350 (Scrapper converted it to dual fuel for those who don't remember) going to use a water to air heat exchanger until all the rooms have baseboard. can only afford one loop at a time.

just a FYI: Cement backer board comes in 1/4, 7/16, 1/2 and 5/8 thick in 3' x 5' or 4' x 8' panels.

Thinner can be scored with utilty knife and then snapped on score line...then there is always the saw option.
