Steve,
Sorry didn't see this sooner.

Without the elbow,......
Measuring from the parts that stick out the farthest - front to rear - are the front edge of the lower front skirt, and the flange of the bottom edge of the backpipe. That is 29 inches on my #6.

I got 29” From the farthest points,
Things are well, I’m getting ready to open a showroom in Cornish flat New Hampshire in a few weeks, I just need the heat to go down a little so I can sand blast a few more stoves To put in without dying if heat stroke.

How’s thing out your way
Hope everyone’s healthy

Paul should have put more lights in in that room last night.

This morning, as I walked past the #6 on my way to the computer in my office, I realized the "tea shelf" top of the backpipe sticks out more than it's bottom edge.

Instead of eye-balling it, I put the tape on the floor under the stove and used a plumb bob down to it from the parts that stick out furthest. That makes it 30-1/4 inches, front to back ...... not 29.

Thanks fellas I guess my caveman geometry was pretty close

Find a good profile pic and mark the outer points of the front and back feet on a piece of paper call this 24 inches

Then move the front mark to the forward edge of the trim ring and make a new mark at the back in line with the exhaust collar

Devide up the first area into 24 spaces and figure out the distance of the third mark from the back of the feet

I came up with 30 inches

at this point, I think most if not all the delay is on my part.

2 of the doors I've been trying to get installed got hung up at the manufacturer and haven't shipped yet, so that needs to be completed before anything else.

the car we use for towing behind RV's when we deliver them at 1,000 or fewer miles needed 3 items of repair which I did at home and now the A/C is on the blink and is scheduled for this Thursday.

my pick up has waited almost a year for a right front wheel bearing. this has to be done before I head to PA for the #6 and, I also need to move a stove from here to Art's on my way.

there is a strong possibility I could be burning 20# of coal a day this winter, no matter what stove i'm using that means i'll be releasing between 7,500 and 8,200 BTU per hour to heat the house depending on actual efficiencies. so i'll have more to consider for furnace and a/c sizing. at this point that project may go on hold till next spring after I have 4 or more months of newly generated data to stand on.

other than that, Lorna and I have a trip scheduled from 9/23 - 10/3 for our 40th anniversary so...…………………

if it ain't one thing it's another

PS, i'm still working 55-60 hours a week and we just moved 2 RV's from Elkhart IN. to Harrisburg PA and drove back home from Sunday 9:00am to Monday 10:00pm.

don't want to talk about the extra 4 hours of "sight seeing" I got roped into on the way back.
