Glenwood #6 baseheater
Sorry been very busy...thanks for the concern from everyone about where the stove is. I’ll get some more pics up tomorrow. My first floor is an open floor plan. I think it will work, but time will tell

AHA, now we know why "around the corner" wasn't going to work and there is more surrounding space for heat to be moved to by what ever method.
I think you are good to go, fire it up and post updates as you go.
we like FIRE pcs too LOL

Yup, I agree with Steve. All that open space, and especially the stair well, is going to draw a lot of the heat away from the kitchen area. At 5 feet distance there's not going to be much heat hitting the fridge.
And it may surprise you if the natural convection air currents caused by the #6 might actually help pull cool air from all that open space between the stove and the front of the fridge ???? The stove gets hot 360 degrees. That's going to pull cooler air around to the kitchen side of the stove.
Before trying to set up any fans, I'd get some readings of the fridge and other surfaces facing the stove with an IR gun ( they can be ordered at Amazon for less than $40.00). Then I'd fire up the #6 and check the same spots after a couple of hours. The IR gun comes in handy for other times, too.
And ditto on the pix !

Beautiful stove and fi-ancy...as Earnest T. Bass would say. Congrats on two beautiful choices...in the correct order too!! I mean picking her first. Lol!
I’d be a little concerned that I’d melt the wife’s dish washer. She won’t be a happy camper. Lol!

so...what's it gonna take to see a test fire in that puppy ?
current reports show 35* in New Bedford with gale warnings, are you running the house on alternative heat till you need more from the #6 ?
even I lit up a stove this week and i'm a hardcore miser

Pretty sure that'll heat 1500sqft no problem. All kidding aside, the beauty of those stoves is the ability to idle them down. You should get some incredible burn times. Enjoy it! I have a Glenwood Oak 30 waiting to be restored.

She’s been lit for about a week! Running Between 150*-200* keeping the kitchen at 80* and the living room at 78*, lol. It’s been in the middle to lower 30s at night and high 40s to low 50s during the day. Getting 24hr burns no problem...I let it go 36hrs a couple of times

Sweet, maybe you can slow it down a bit more. Getting regular 48 hour burns would be awesome
Good work so far, pretty sure you will get along fine when the real cold shows up
