I got the guts cleaned up and painted. The cast barrel has a nice red color to it, I thought I read somewhere that cast gets red like this when it gets very hot. All the other parts should be going to the blaster this week. I plan on getting a new back pipe made, it was a pita getting the collar off and the pipe got a bit beat up. The barrel is in great shape so that should be good for a while. I fabricated some new tabs for the fire pot and ground down the humps where the old tabs were. I just need to bolt them on. Trying to get as much done as I can now, going for surgery in 2 weeks. Inching along!!!

Got the shell of the stove blasted and painted. The pot support had a previous repair and the other side of the tab had a small crack starting so I got that taken care of. Hopefully I’ll start assembly soon.

Working on stoves is good physical therapy and mental therapy.
Will not be to long till fire season starts, if it ever warms up.
I refired back up for a couple weeks.
I need to get going on my heaters.

Inching along with the rebuild. I got the lower half assembled and sealed. Going to hit it with one more coat of stove black then assemble the fire pot.

Ok...pot is installed and sealed with brackets in place. I cut the back end of the bolts shorter just so they don’t stick out so far. Next thing on the list...order Noxram! I’ll have to leave a few spots clear for the nuts so I can secure the face plate and barrel to the pot, then I’ll just fill those spots in with refractory.

Thanks Scott. I’m not making bricks, I’m pounding Noxram into place.
On a side note...I got the barrel and faceplate installed and sealed up. I’m not sealing the upper dome. I figure it fits quite snug and isn’t too crucial as far as air leakage. This will also allow me to remove it in the off season giving me access to the area between the pot and barrel for a good cleaning.

I got the Noxram installed and scored. It took more than 50 pounds, luckily I had some left over from when I lined the MGO116. Just have to install the top dome, doors, nickel parts and give her a good polish!

I caught a pretty cool pic. I had a fire going in my outdoor fire pit. I happened to glance back in the house through the glass patio door when I caught the reflection of the fire in it giving the illusion that there was a fire in the C40. Talk about being in the right spot!!!
