Same here - 40F. Overcast and damp from all the rain we've been having. The range is kept going 24/7 not just for cooking, but to keep the chill and dampness out.

Likely be a few more weeks before it warms up enough to not need it for heat.

Still got fire here. Heat feels good on days like this.

About two weeks left for fire season.

I wish I still had the stoker running, it was the low 40's here this morning and real damp from all the rain.

But I don't want to fire it back up after cleaning it out so the propane furnace kicked on a couple times to keep the house at 67.

I'd been burning wood in my MKII on and off over the last few weeks but I finally had enough of lighting it up every other day so this morning I switched back to coal. This weather in the northeast is going to stink all week. :no1:

The only thing that bloomed on time here is lilacs. My star magnolia was a month late, apricot bushes almost that late, apples and pears blooming 2-3 weeks late. Trees leafed out almost 2 weeks late. Another cold April and May, but like HB said, it beats waking up dead! The northern have been biting and that helps.

Most the corn is in the ground here, some beans are. Mostly depends on how well the field drains as its been wet here. 3-4" of rain the next few days is gonna slow the rest up.
