We just received 14 tons of bagged coal yesterday. 6 tons of rice and 8 tons of nut.
we piggy backed on an order going to a local distributor and was given good deal delivered to my business.
$240 a skid delivered. we had to get it off the truck etc.

That doesn't sound like a very good deal to me!
You're only 55-60 miles or so from Lehigh?
That's $420 for trucking for your share of a split load to go that distance.
You paid $7.00-$7.60 or so per mile for trucking on a split load that the other half was going to a dealer? If that dealer is near you, he basically got more than free trucking for his coal.
I'd look for someone else to truck it for me next time.

it will have to do for this year. I had called around an most places were selling these 1.2 ton skids for well over $300 if picked up at the store.
Next year I will be able to take a full truck load and be able to shop it around for more options.
Had been buying bulk for years but we tried some bagged last year and liked its ease of use.
anyway it's still cheaper than heating oil.

$240 for 2400 lbs is $200 per ton. For a less than truckload delivery of bagged coal, that isn't bad at all.Protrucker wrote: ↑Sat. Sep. 01, 2018 3:28 amThat doesn't sound like a very good deal to me!

I just ordered a 1.2 ton pallet of Blaschak nut from CT Pellet in Torrington CT. for 295/ton. Have some Lehigh left which I have been burning for the last two years. I do like the the Lehigh but I'm looking forward to comparing the two brands as a lot of you folks give Blaschak good reviews.

Lowes has Miner's Choice Nut on sale for 50% off thru mid October https://www.lowes.com/pd/Miner-s-Choice-40-lb-Nut ... /999979976. You have to do some searching to find stock. I did a 140 mile loop yesterday and ended up with 100 bags from 2 locations for $3.03 per bag. The second store sold me a full pallet of 50, which actually contained 60 bags. As a testament to Miner's Choice Nut, 3 years ago, I loaded up with 2 pallets of Miner's Choice from TSC. It was extremely uniform and clean, unlike the dreaded Black Bag Reading which has been full of fines, slurry and junk. this Miner's Choice from Lowes is just as clean and uniform as the TSC stuff from before. It looks like they are clearing out old stock, so may be discontinuing it.
