I caved in last evening and fired the boiler up. It ran for nearly 2 hours to get this place heated up to 70. The house feels totally different this morning.

The other day the sun porch was up to 107 .I forgot to open the door in the morning to let the heat in the house, l almost killed the lime trees. So yea on sunny days i probably can get away with a coffee cup of coal. Good thing cuz im goin thru a half ton of junk coal right now just to get rid of it.

Were forecasting 74 today, the all time high is 75 and that would be in the last 100 yrs or so.Sylvesterd101 wrote: ↑Sun. Nov. 06, 2022 7:41 amyea we will see thats for sure. i cant remember the last time it was 70+ degrees in november haha

I did my yearly maintenance on the Kaa-2 2 or 3 weeks ago, and fired it up. it will run all winter now.
In the shop, I have not even put the stove pipe back on yet. Have some coal left from last year. I plan on burning coal. Also have standing dead ash trees behind the shop if needed. One reason I favored the 254 Hitzer is the capability of burning multiple fuels. PS: Make sure you get out to vote tomorrow.

Tonight is the night. I got a small wood fire going before dinner in the mark II. About 7:30 I threw 5-6 small coal shovels in. At 7:35 I opened spinner to about 2.5 turns open and went back to reading. At 8 I gave it another 4 bigger scoops. At 8:45 the side over the wood coals was very happy so I put 4 more scoops on the other side to heat up. I figure around 9:40 I can top it off and be done til morning.
