EFM wood/coal boiler

Hand Fed Coal Boiler: Retired Franco Belge 92,000 BTU
Other Heating: oil

Looking for someone that is using the coal side of the EFM. What are your likes and dislikes ? I have a question about the size of the firebox. Seem very large for a coal fire. Thanks for your input. The Farmer

I think he is asking about the EFM hand fed unit discussed here:

The efm WCB-24 hand fired wood/coal boiler

Looks like a very nice unit, but I don't know anyone that has one.

I believe member *Stokerman* uses one at his residence...

From everything I have read the EFM WCB-24 is poorly designed for coal with the sloping sides. That is why I didn’t get one and instead got a a Tarm.
With all the Knowledge EFM has on producing coal fired boilers why they made the WCB with sloping sides is a mystery to me.
