Set dump aquastat around 195 to 200. Your furnace coil will like 180° I often run my boiler around 190 when it's really cold

If he’s running his pump 24/7 he shouldn’t hit those temperatures.

I have to disagree. I have a similar setup, only with a Harman boiler. And also circulate between the Harman & the oil boiler 24/7. when the house thermostat calls for heat the primary air opens on the Harman & it revs up.When the house is satisfied, the primary on the Harman may still be open with it going like the hammers of hell!! At 170* the primary on the Harman closes & the temps sometimes still climb to 200*. Atjremington wrote: ↑Wed. Feb. 26, 2020 3:42 pmIf he’s running his pump 24/7 he shouldn’t hit those temperatures.
this point the dump zone takes over till temps drop. So IMO those numbers seem quite appropriate to me.

I forgot he was using the combustion fan. It wouldn’t be an issue with the Sampson regulator. I would also have run a bypass around the circulator pump feeding the dump zone in case the power went out.coalder wrote: ↑Wed. Feb. 26, 2020 5:42 pmI have to disagree. Mine runs similar too. After a good demand and coal bed output ramps up and Sampson shuts the air off. It will sometimes creep to 200 and the high limit will kick on for a few mins to bring it back down to 185 and then it will settle back down.coalder wrote: ↑Wed. Didnt think about the pex and the 175. However I run 180 ish to my hwbb upstairs for about 3 years.. It works, but not saying it's right, or how long it will last.
Because of the possibility of freezing. Garage that's not insulated. I got antifreeze in the boiler from the garage to the house I didn't want to add antifreeze to the entire house.

I see your not using the insulated jacket. That will help heat your garage and also keep your boiler temps down.
