Just curious how the New Yorker Boilers are? I've seen a few of them for sale lately. I dont hear allot of mention abbout them on this forum.

They are a nice unit (for being hand fired).

AFAIK in the newer models (WC-90 and -130) the flue originates at the firebox, so the boiler water is pretty much heated only through the walls of the combustion chamber. On at least some of the older models (like WC-120), combustion gases also passed through a firetube heat exchanger before entering the flue. On this basis I believe the older ones put more heat into the water, and less up the flue.

I had seen a few on FB Marketplace. I was just curious. Sounds like they are ok, but nothing special.

After a few winters of shoveling you would be ready for a stoker anyway.

The stokers are nice. I think my plan going forward is to wait and replace my oil burner with a LL Boiler that way I can run Coal in the colder months and oil during the Summer. Nothing set in stone. The EFM,Van Wert, or DS Aqua Stoke are awesome and no shortage of horsepower for the job but I only have one flue.
