Okay fellows my first season was a little rocky to start but after a while I think I got everything down on my first coal boiler I just had some questions now that I've shut down the unit for the summer and installed a hot water heater what is best to do maintenance wise for a Harman sf-260 boiler I know I should remove the steel pipe clean it out wash it out I'm going to vacuum out the inside of the boiler get all the ash out clean up the fire brick I guess inspect the grates for warpage I'm just trying to get a ballpark idea of everything I should cover and things I should either Lube or replace

Be sure to vacuum the "swirl chamber" by going in from the flue breech. There is a shelf in there going right and left that traps quite a bit of fly ash.

I also put a light bulb and a big tub of DampRid inside when done cleaning.

Just brush it out and vacuum it really well. I like to put a 100 watt light bulb inside the boiler for the summer - keeps it warm enough to avoid condensation.

I cap my flue and disconnect pipe from the stove. I also keep my basement in the area around the boiler under 60% humidity with a dehumidifier. Before i started doing that i had rust coming off in sheets inside the boiler over summer. Now no more.

I pull the stove pipe, and immediately clean. Cap the breach, and stick a little cubical heater in the ash pit. Keeps the boiler at 100*. That's it!!! Do a good cleaning at my convenience (Normally when time to fire up again).
