On Refill, mine is half a bag.
Recommendation for hand fired coal boiler.

- Hand Fed Coal Boiler: H. S. Tarm, model 202, 1980
- Hand Fed Coal Stove: Reading 'bucket a day' stove in storage, waiting for attention
- Coal Size/Type: Pea, from Little Buck mine
- Other Heating: New Yorker oil burner which almost never runs, thanks to the Tarm!
On this coal forum I found a used TARM boiler. It uses a Samson controller which senses the water temperature and then controls the air draft.
It burns coal like a dream. I love it.
My model is FT22, built in 1980. 22 Mcal/hr.
I’d post an ad in the classified section.

Just based on the reading I've done. For my own purpose I would consider a Chappee,Harman,or DS Aqua Gem. For used Hand Fed units.

I did an inquiry on the DS 9158 hand fed boiler doing hydronic floor heating. I provided some general heating and insulation information with room sizes and was given an answer that it "would be perfect" for my setup. I took a pic of my long winded details of my house, read it if i attached it properly, compare to what you have and know about your place and maybe it will help you. Good luck.

You are going to need to do more work to find the right boiler
for this rather than getting an answer over the phone.
You need a manual J heat loss assessment done first.

I got lucky. I stumbled into a Tarm(1980) which works like a dream. Sometimes you see these on eBay.

I would second that opinion, We have a WC90 set up in a not so ideal setup at the youngest son's house but it works fine on coal (the boy likes burning wood though... cause it's free ) and while I was reading this post I typed coal boiler into craigslist and well would you look at that... https://harrisburg.craigslist.org/app/d/hummelsto ... 32066.html if i didn't already have a Van Wert setting in the garage I wouldn't be typing this.
