I'm going to take a stab at this and guess that at a mean daily temperature of 21 degrees it is burning 126 lbs. of anthracite per day (while hoping I'm wrong). And that his initial 'stab guess' burn rate is 2.86 lbs. per HDD. Do you know what his current daily feeding pounds are, and what the daily mean temperatures have been for your area recently?

A couple things to consider. The heat load doesn't change according to the outside temps. He's putting in two buckets a day to maintain the coal bed depth.... and yes I'm fearing it's going to hit 200 and close the combustion air completely that is currently set at 10% driven by chimney draft.

2 buckets per day is way better than the 3 buckets per day that I just guessed. If you are talking 5 gallon plastic pails, lets call it about 83 lbs. per day. That is ~3.46 lbs. per hour, or an average input BTUH of ~42,400.

I saw the buckets, they aren't completely full. I'd call them 35 pounds each.
The temp is creeping upward, it's at 196.1 now. We have the pulse set at 1 minute every hour. The fire is just too healthy.

Wow, that's only about 35,700 BTUH. The burn rate seems pretty meager. Is the house currently warm?

And only 350K boiler which has constant meager output irregardless of outdoor temps.
What is going to happen when it hits single digits temperature outdoors?
Will it suffice to just continue to sit and marvel at graphs and charts while this family freezes?
The gifts of beer and such maybe for putting these folks up till spring time comes around

Maybe get this fellow a copy of Holohan's Pumping Away.
Picture is worth one thousand words.

So... the boiler can’t warm the house with a constant 24/7 circulation through the one loop of baseboard?

If it is eating a steady 35,700 BTUH, it is likely only delivering a steady ~25,000 BTUH into the house. No wonder the house is only holding at about 65 degrees. At roughly -10 degrees outside things are potentially going to start freezing inside this house.

For now can’t the water temp be raised to say, 190 or even 195, and raise the shut off temp to like 210? Getting the baseboard a little hotter.
