Just an FYI on starting it up... I used a BBQ chimney starter in my sf-260.

1. Put a 1" layer of anthracite coal to cover the entire grate area
2. Load a chimney starter with hardwood lump charcoal with newspaper in the bottom for lighting
3. Place on top of coal in center of grates and light.
4. Shut load door and let the lump charcoal get red hot.
5. Carefully pour out charcoal in center of grates and add a shovel of coal on top of charcoal
6. Let added coal catch fire and continue slowly adding coal until filled
7. Leave ash door open during this but never walk away with ash door open

Hardwood lump is key. Start to finish should take 30 to 45 minute s.

Your installer has a lot to learn as well. By having that compression tank connected to the bottom of the airscoop with an air vent on top, the tank can't work correctly. It should be piped off the top of the airscoop, so all the air bubbles can go up into the expansion tank. The way it is now, the tank will flood with water.

Also, the motor on your circulator is facing up. It should be rotated 90 degrees so the motor & shaft is parallel with the ground.

So the coil can be pulled easily...

I would have them come back and turn the circulator so the motor shaft is horizontal. Here’s a picture of the Taco instructions. They say you can have the motor up if your pressure is above 20 psi.

Your relief valve is going to blow at 30 psi. We’re talking about boiler system pressure. You should be around 12 psi.

Yes, but that style of tank will not work like a bladder tank...

Apparently not if it’s at 50! Lmao

Either he’s talking about his water pressure in his domestic lines, or he has an improper/defective PRV.
