Is it a diving bell? A robot character cut from the script of the movie "20000 Leagues Under the Sea".
I ran pex when the walls and ceilings were open and stubbed out for radiator connections to each room so I'm almost ready to go should the urge move me.
Could this beast be used for making domestic hot water .... could it (also) be used to heat a 2 story 800 sq ft. house. Do I need an electric pump to circulate the hot water (or glycol) ? If the coal fire is burning all the time, how efficient can this beast be... or am I looking at this wrong?
Your thoughts please?

Looks like a "bucket a day" water heater. You could use it to heat your domestic hot water, or for heating. I am not sure of the capacity, or how easy it would be to control in a heating application.

I'm running one of these right now as a test. They have a "H" stamp for ASME.
If piped proper and w/ pressure releif valve for safety it is just like any other boiler vessel.
Better pressure rating than most any other boilers, since it's rated at 125 psi...normal boiler is rated at only 30 psi.
For my testing I'm heating 80 indirect gallons from 80* F up to 145*F in a couple hours using a pump.
Then I switch it over to a 4' and a 6' parallel piped fin tube BB until going back to water heating.
When I got mine I got the storage tank that was matched to boiler when new. THAT, I will not use.
BTW: OP's Peerless is a re-badged unit made by Werner Foundry of Landsdale, PA

A.R.& S.S. used the best austenitic steel, very high in chromium and will never rust.Perhaps 20-25% chromium. I will set it up for wash day right long side her serrated wash board. Nothing but the best for Shelley. Them new fangled washers always go wrong. Yah can't baby them, or next she will want a dryer and I already have a bucket of clothes clips ready for a sunny day.

So you don't like our water heater... They did a 65, 125 and 250... You can always add a T&P valve and take off the bushing and run 2" (3"??) iron up a story to a big ol' rad and it will run just by convection - no pump. Did this with a Rayburn in my youth you warm the bedrooms. 50% glycol and run it outside. Try that with your AO Smith heater. My Lister CS/6 generator cools by convection too. All this new fangled stuff.....

Found it in the basement as somebody gave it to me. Now I can run a bath in the cast iron tub whilst listening to my Victrola... William would be proud.
keegs put it to work.

Keegs, $750 is waay overpriced. Make sure when you buy it is local these are HEAVY. Don't buy to use there are better ways ... mine was a barn find. This is for fun only.
