Hand Fed Coal Boiler: Buderus G201 Logano
Coal Size/Type: Anthracite Stove and Nut

Post by JonsNew2Coal » Fri. Jan. 19, 2018 6:34 pm

I am burning Nut sized anthracite coal in a Buderus G201 Lugano wood/coal boiler in-line with my oil boiler. I seem to be having a tough time transferring the heat from the coal burn to the baseboard heat circulation perhaps due to buildup on the heat transfer area at the top of the unit. I have tried nylon brushes and wire brush attachments to an electric drill but they don't fit in the small nooks and crannies.

How can I clean the upper heat transfer area so that the boiler is running most efficiently? I have included a link to the manual a photo of the area I am talking about.

Thank you for any help!!!!

Your local supply house will have a variety of wire brushes made for cleaning heat exchangers. They look like this: https://www.supplyhouse.com/Weil-McLain-591-706-2 ... sh-123-DMG
