In the process of installing this boiler...efm install manual has the pump pulling out of the return(bottom) with arrow on pump pointing away from boiler toward existing boiler...
I better check the direction of flow on my existing boiler as I don't want them pumping against each other...

I just figured they would push the hottest water first...idk...pardon my newb questions...lol

You can pump through the other boiler in either direction...but I would pull from the zone return manifold and pump back into the pipe over the oil boiler - this will ensure that you get full temperature water to the zones. Otherwise it gets "blended" with the water returning from the radiators...that is how I started with mine, and I like it much better with the circulator going the other way.

See diagram below (I would skip the flow check shown in the diagram).

Do I need a second circulator ....efm doesn't show one on this wiring diagram?

it all depends how you want to hook it up. You can hook the boilers in series and just use the existing circulator, or you can put a circulator between the two boilers and just let it run.

Since the boiler came with a pump Im putting it in...I was just concerned about the dump zone as I dont want to have any issues in a overfire situation.

My WCB has been in daily use for about 11 years. In the non-heating months, I use some pallet wood to make hot water.

My setup uses one Taco 007 circulator and 3 zone valves. An aquastat on the WCB turns on the Taco when the water hits 160. In the Summer, the water circulates to an Ergomax indirect tank (E23) and back to the WCB. In the heating months, the water goes through the E23, then to the bottom of my oil boiler, out the top to the zone valve manifold and out into the zones. It returns to the WCB. Hand valves are used for different uses and different seasons. A Modine is another zone used to heat the garage.

The basement zone became the dump zone, using another aquastat that opened the zone valve for the basement. This worked great until last year when the Taco zone valve head failed and my system turned into a steam system. Also, if the power goes out with a full bed of coal and you're not home to put it out, you'll also have a steam system.

So, with the mental assistance of fellow member Scottscoaled, I am switching to a better system. A battery and inverter will power one circulator the keep the water flowing to the dump zone. To keep it simple, I didn't want to run 24V wires to the existing Taco, so I am replacing it with an Automag zone valve (RI3/4-14UR) which is letters R and I, then 3/4 for 3/4" pipe. This valve OPENS on loss of power and works normally with 24V applied. So, the next time the power goes out, the circulator will kick on and the zone valve will open automatically without power. The zone valve costs about $100. My WCB is about 35 years old.

By the way, some guy got pea coal by mistake, instead of rice coal, and I got a ton of pea cheap. Once you have some clinkers covering the grates, pea burns very well in a WCB.
