I recently procured this boiler because it looked neat!
Spencer Heater from Williamsport, Pa.
216k btu. Was used w/ oil gun. Horizontal tubes look to be in near perfect condition.
Can anyone tell us about it?
I can't find much info on it at all.

Glenn, you might as well start a new chapter in "Old Boilers" in your coal burner Registry. I know it did not look that pretty when you found it. 60 years of rust and dust does some 'modification'. Shove a GJ stoker in the beast and have 220K to play with.
Looks exactly like the old Kewanee type C boilers which were made in the factory at Kewanee Illinois. They were bought out in 1991 by Burnham and closed by their new owner in 2001. I was their ASME code authorized inspector in my previous life for a spell.

Hello, I am looking for an old Spencer boiler. I wonder where did you get yours? And how old is your Spencer boiler?

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your reply.
Do you know any commercial Spencer boiler of 1950s or 1960s?
Thank you!

I know of a C-90 and a C-260 (i.e., rated for 2600 sf steam). I also have a Pacific Steel boiler of the same capacity and design as the C-260.

The guy I work with use to work at Spencer then went to Keeler Boiler. 2 Years ago we had to plug 2 tubes on a Spencer unit for the Williamsport School District. They have seen closed the school.
