I was in northern NY last week and happen to stumble upon these two old steam boilers. The coal steam boiler was taken out of service around 1920 and the oil steam boiler was pressed into service. I know this is a coal forum, however,I thought I would include the oil boiler since it would be nice to see such an old American made oil unit still in service. The coal boiler is large, it extended a couple feet below my feet. The coal unit is an Imperial steam coal boiler and the oil is a fitzgibbons steam boiler. Enjoy the pics.

Thanks for the pictures. That Imperial boiler is a real piece of America's past and wonderful to see. Afterall ,it made it thru the constant scrap drives of WWII and beyond.I will bet dollars to donuts it's shear size and weight has kept the contemporary scrap guys away from it for years. If I had anything like that, it would get spruced up a bit and it would be the focal point of my basement area. I would even give tours!!! Keep 'em comin' and mind the asbestos areas while boiler spotting. Mike
