I am currently preparing to construct a new house in the Summer. I want to burn coal primarily, but have the option to burn wood if coal becomes unavailable or expensive. I was looking at either a Natures Comfort Outdoor Boiler or an indoor Harman SF-360 Wood/Coal boiler... It looks like the Indoor Harman is much more efficient than the OWB. What is the best way to go with this? If anyone has any suggestions please let me know...
Thanks!!!!
Help! Radiant Heating With Coal/Wood Boiler
I use a SF360, first year. I heat with radiant ( steel radiators), water to air fan coil units. I burn bit coal and wood. Boiler is in it's own building 50' from house. Mess is not in main house. Works OK. I am now just finishing installing 1200 gal tank for heat storage. Wood folks use storage regularily, coal users claim it is not needed. I think it is. I will know for sure soon.
What ever questions, I will endeavour to answer. There are many others with more experiance on this forum.

It doesn't just look like it, it IS more efficient. It will cost a lot less too.flytrap wrote:It looks like the Indoor Harman is much more efficient than the OWB. What is the best way to go with this?
