It was someone here on NEPA. :) Just WHO is the question du jour.............. My gut tells me the culprit is a happy Chubby owner BUT I have not ruled out a certain NEPA member who is not a Chubby owner that lives in Canada. Just speculation on my part.

So far the list of suspects is:
Hambden Bob
Dcrane (who seems to be MIA)
Logs
Onedollar (Trust me I didn't do it)
Scalabro (who claims he did the deed)
Nortcan (my pick)

The list is pretty thin so far.... hmmmmmmmmmmm

Would we assume it's a Chubby owner? That would kinda narrow it down.

Yes we are pretty sure the culprit is a Chubby Owner. :D

Guess away but you can't stack the ballot box by listing EVERY Chubby owner on NEPA. So say 2 guesses. The clock is ticking as we need answers and you might need a new grate! :o

I take this action of giving the gift of coal, a show of kindness, or appreciation, and not anything insulting Lobsterguy. The term "throwing under the bus" was in jest, and nothing more. (Plus it would be nice to have an extra grate.) :D
So I guess we can assume it wasn't you?

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, our Chubbies were burning

And heating the house.

When what to my wondering eyes did appear!!! A bag of anthracite coal on my steps from a peer!

~Question Solved~

I have to say Joeq was on the right track and reverse engineering was my first thought as well. However, Warminmn asked how did the coal burn? Hmm good idea! So, Larry poured the coal into the Chubby and out popped a card which read as follows:

To a good friend..

Out of an abundance of concern about the temporary coal shortage on the Cape I was about to burn my last bit of coal and had this thought.

Instead of heating my own house with this last bit of coal - I think ill wrap it up and send it off to a good ole soul.

I hope he won’t be offended at Christmas I thought, but coal is in his veins it’s just a gift of friendship from a board member I thought.

So meaning no harm I wrapped it nice and tight and sent it off to Fed-X the very next night.

Your friend,

Signed Lobsterman!

Thanks for help to all the members

The Coal Stove Chubby Grate bottom goes to! WARMINMN!! So Warminmn please PM me your address and a new GRATE for your Chubby will be sent right out! :D
